Khalil Mack’s new endorsement deal was kind of a no-brainer
The stunning aspect of the endorsement deal is that it took an assist from Warriors star Draymond Green to come to fruition.
“I got a text from Draymond Green out of the blue one day,” said Mack, in a YouTube video. “And he was like, `Lil’ bro, you gotta be trying to partner with Mack. You should have been on that.
“I texted my guy and we tried to put it to work.”
While the NFL’s Defensive Player of the Year insists he’s had Mack Trucks on his mind pretty much his whole life, Mack has been primarily focused on becoming a dominating football player. Mack’s 2016 stats suggest he’s arrived — he had 11 sacks, 73 tackles, five forced fumbles, three fumble recoveries and he returned a Cam Newton interception for a touchdown.
Still, the image of a Mack Truck has never been far from his mind.
“Every time I’m on that field, it’s just a part of my thought process,” Mack said. “Like I’m a Mack Truck running through whoever is in front of me.
“Ever since I was a kid, just seeing my dad talk about Mack Trucks, it always stood out to us and it made us feel like we were connected to something important, something bigger than ourselves.”
