Breaking news: Raiders have more problems than Derek Carr’s back injury

Quarterback Derek Carr rolled to his right, spun away from Derek Wolfe, and Shelby Harris got an arm on him. Carr was on his way to the ground and twisted awkwardly as defensive end Adam Gotsis finished off the play, with Carr appearing to take a knee to his lower back.

Left tackle Donald Penn, seeing his quarterback go down and perhaps having a flashback to last Christmas Eve when Carr’s broken fibula effectively ended the Raiders’ season, was visibly upset.

As it turned out, the Raiders responded much better than they did last December. They even had a chance to win right up to the point where Justin Simmons intercepted an EJ Manuel pass intended for Amari Cooper at the Denver 8-yard line.
